These are dark days for Vancouver Whitecaps FC... the 'Caps lost in the Voyageurs Cup, losing to Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League. It put an exclamation point on the struggles the 'Caps have had all season long. 
 
In this edition of Soccer Talk, Tyler and Simon look at what has gone wrong for the blue and white this year, with fan discontent at an all-time high, has the time come for significant change at the club? If so, are their experienced people that can come in and put things back on track?

After a brief hiatus, Soccer Talk returns to recap the Blue and White's 1-0 victory over the league's best side at BC Place. The new Major League Soccer season is upon us, and for Vancouver Whitecaps FC fans, their first opportunity to see the new-look squad under head coach Marc Dos Santos is on Saturday. 

Ahead of the Blue and White’s season opener at BC Place, Tyler and Simon assess how the ‘Caps will fare by position and in the upcoming 2019 campaign. They also give their thoughts on this weekend’s opening game against Minnesota United.

The Canadian Premier League unveiled the full schedule for their inaugural 2019 campaign. The guys debate the CPL’s decision to play a two-season format - Spring and Fall - and if that will appeal to supporters.     

Plus, Simon tells us what to look out for in the world of soccer over the coming week.

Tyler Green and Simon Fudge discuss what Vancouver Whitecaps FC should do in their final two MLS games of the season and if Whitecaps FC 2 can continue their journey in the USL playoffs. Former Canada and Vancouver 86ers assistant coach Alan Errington joins the show with a no nonsense reaction to Canada and the Whitecaps, plus CanMNT captain Atiba Hutchinson in an emotional interview.

Following a costly defeat in Honduras on Friday, Canada’s hopes of reaching the final-round ‘Hexagonal’ stage of 2018 World Cup qualifying in CONCACAF hang by a thread. On this episode, Tyler and Simon reflect on another defeat for Whitecaps FC - a costly 2-1 home loss to the San Jose Earthquakes. With their playoff hopes still hanging in the balance, do the Blue and White have what it takes to turn things around or does Friday’s defeat leave them with a mountain too big to climb at this stage of the season? 

The loss to San Jose was the latest in a season of setbacks and disappointments for Whitecaps FC. Tyler and Simon give their thoughts on what has gone wrong and if anything has actually gone right for Vancouver in 2016. We also hear the comments of Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson following Friday’s defeat to the Earthquakes at BC Place.     

Like London 2012, the Canadian women’s national team are one win away from the women’s soccer final at the Rio Olympics. On Tuesday, they face a re-match versus a tough German side that they beat in the group stage.
